Heroes Memorial Foundation is working in cooperation with several organizations that are responding to help the victims of the devastating storms on Nov. 17.
Please understand that there are a lot of messages coming through the incident page that we are trying to respond to. Heroes Memorial Foundation is accepting online donations for first responders, military (active and veterans) and their families.

Request for assistance will be forwarded to personnel on the ground so they can respond to you.

The Washington Rotary Club has a Foundation that is now accepting monetary donations that will stay in Washington to those in need. Checks can be made payable to Washington Rotary Foundation and mailed to 2075 Washington Rd, Washington, IL 61571 or dropped off in person at Deiters Funeral Home.
Washington Chamber of Commerce:
As we reported earlier, our biggest need at the current time is financial assistance for long term relief efforts. Three separate relief funds have been established at Morton Community Bank
1) City of Washington Relief Fund
2) Rotary of Washington Foundation Fund
3) Washington High School Fund
You can give monetarily, via cash or check, at any Morton Community Bank location throughout Central Illinois. Checks can also be mailed to Morton Community Bank at 721 W. Jackson St, Morton, IL 61550. The Washington Rotary Foundation Fund is also accepting credit card donations. Please call the bank at (309) 284-1365 to make a credit card donation to the Rotary Foundation Fund.
Crossroads United Methodist Church is accepting online donations to assist the victims of this disaster at https://secure.accessacs.com/access/oglogin.aspx?sn=108294
Donation checks can be made out to Tornado Relief Fund and dropped off (or mailed to) Washington Community Bank at 1895 Washington Road in Washington, IL 61571
Donation checks can be made out to Sunnyland church of the Nazarene, 201 N Summit, Washington 61571 and make sure on memo line, Washington tornado. We are also an official designated collection point.

A large truck with a few thousand new and gently-used toys has been delivered to The Hope Chest in Pekin. They will be hosting a 'No-Cost' shopping night on Thursday the 19th and Friday the 20th from 6-8pm. You MUST register for a shopping voucher by GOING IN to the store between 9am-6pm on either Monday the 16th or Tuesday the 17th. There are a limited number of vouchers. Please mention you are a tornado victim when registering.

Illinois Central College - East Peoria Campus - is allowing those affected to access their gymnasium shower free of charge. All interested parties need only to check in at their front desk. Please note they are low on towels and toiletries. If you are able, please bring your own.

The Tazewell County Animal Control picked up 60 animals at the Georgetown Common area in Washington. Animals were either in the building or in the surrounding area. Almost all of the collected animals have been returned to their owners or are accounted for.
If you are still missing an animal, call the Tazewell County Animal Control at 309-477-3370. Animal Control staff will continue to monitor the Georgetown site and area for wandering animals. Washington residents needing emergency supply of cat or dog food can pick some up free of charge at Crossroads United Methodist Church the remainder of this week from 11am to 3pm in the multipurpose room (gym). Please enter through the main (north) entrance.

Securing your home and property:
If you cannot take everything with you, get a permanent marker and write your name and address on your items. This will at least keep people from being able to sell it and scrap your items.
Property is replaceable, please be cautious while in the debris zone.
Pick up will resume on Thursday. Waste Management will pick up their regular Thursday and Friday route this week. They will attempt the Monday route on Monday, then continue with Monday, Thursday, and Friday routes from here out. Tuesday and Thursday routes will be picked up as access allows. Household garbage may be dropped off at the Park District Old Admin building on Lincoln from 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. through Friday this week.
